Went to a poetry reading event organised by friends of Fargudiya, a fourteen year old girl, who sadly died after being raped. Her childhood sakhi, Shobha Mishra, could not forget her pain and her subsequent realization that violence against women needs to be addressed differently, led her to organize this event. We It was good to meet fellow poets like Suman Kesri, Leena Malhotra, Vipin Chaudhary, Anju Sharama and others. Prof Purushottam Aggrawal, Dr Nand Bhardwaj and Dr.Nawal along with Syed Ayub and Sanjay Mishra were there to stand witness to this noble effort. The temperature outside the hall was well above 42 degrees and people kept streaming in till the last moment.
सविता जी, आपसे मिलना हमेशा बहुत अच्छा लगता है, आपसे जो अपनापन मुझे मिलता है दुर्लभ है....कार्यक्रम के फ़ौरन बाद भी अपने सबसे पहले मेरा हालचाल पूछा ये बात दिल को छू गयी.....आप मेरी प्रेरणास्रोत हैं......हमेशा ....
